With clinical interests in haematology and oncology, Dr Teo is a purpose-driven innovator in the field of medical research and academics. He was recruited to develop the Autologous Stem Cell Transplant program for solid tumours in the Department of Medical Oncology at Singapore General Hospital and also spearheaded the Bone Marrow and Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplant research at the National University Hospital.
Dr Teo is the Chairman of Gleneagles Hospital Blood Transfusion Committee. He is also a key member of various prestigious medical bodies including Singapore Society of Haematology, Singapore Bone Marrow Donor Programme, Singapore Society of Oncology, Society of Transplantation (Singapore), International Society of Haematology and Graft Engineering and the International Society of Haematology.
Dr Teo was conferred a Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) post his graduation with a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery from National University of Singapore (1984). In addition to the Public Service Commission Scholarship to study the medical degree, Dr Teo was also awarded a scholarship to train at Royal Marsden Hospital, United Kingdom.
